Strelitzia Nicolai or the Giant White Bird of Paradise is a houseplant with leathery banana like leaves which often split to allow natural light through to the forest floor. It is known for its striking exotic appearance though it may also produce a unique white and blue, bird-shaped flower. This plant requires a bright, sunny spot, warmth and humidity and it makes a dramatic statement plant for interiors or sunny sheltered outdoor areas during summer.
